Description: Do you help an older relative or friend? Are you feeling stressed? Are you caring for an individual with Alzheimers, dementia, or other disabling disorders? Perhaps you can benefit from Power Tools for Caregivers, an educational program designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of yourself. As part of the class you will learn to reduce stress, improve self confidence, better communicate your feelings, balance your life, increase your ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. The class will meet every Thursday from Aug., 14 through Sept. 18, 2008 (six weeks) from 5-7 p.m. at South Iredell Senior Center. The instructors will be Jackie Negley, In–Home Service Coordinator for Iredell Council on Aging and Ann Simmons, MS Extension Agent for Iredell County Cooperative Extension. Each student will receive a copy of the Caregiver Help Book. A light meal will be served and Respite Care can be provided for your family member upon request. Donations are appreciated.
