The Southeast Tourism Society and Travel Media Press Room included three events from the Lake Norman area in the top 20 of “can’t miss” events. The Amazing Maize Maze at Historic Rural Hill, Carolina Renaissance Festival, and Christmas in Davidson was selected as top attractions for the Fall.
Southeast Tourism Society began the Top 20 Events award program in 1985. Thus, bringing more publicity to the best in the Southeast. Each month 20 events are selected then, STS publicizes them throughout the country.
The Amazing Maize
The Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill in Huntersville is a 7acre corn maze. It will be held on weekends, September 28th – November 3rd. It is considered one of the largest corn mazes in the Southeast. People come from all around to experience this fun challenge. In addition, the maze is an excellent team-building exercise and recommended for all ages. Carolina Renaissance Festival
The Festival will be held Saturdays and Sundays, October 5 through November 24. The annual event transforms an area of Huntersville into a 16th-century European village. Including, 1500s marketplace, entertainment, arts and crafts, games, rides, jousting competitions, food, and so much more. Bring your family and friends for a fun-filled day of 16th century Europe. Christmas in Davidson
Finally, the annual Christmas in Davidson celebration will be held Dec. 5-7. This event has expanded each year to more areas of the lakeside town in northern Mecklenburg County. Come spend an evening walking through a holiday village filled with shops, live music, food, and a live nativity scene. This is Davidson’s largest and most popular event.
